Assemble Upper Level Deck Frame
Fasten (4) 47 15/16" 2x4's together as shown below. This will be for the upper deck of your tower deer hunting blind.
Cut Decking
Cut standard 1 1/8" thick 5 1/2" wide decking as shown below.
Cut 10 Foot 2x4's to 9ft, 3"
Build the Top Ladder of your Tower Blind
This is the same design as the lower ladder except the sides are 8 ft long, there are a few extra rungs, and there is a piece that is fastened to the bottom. Also, the rungs are attached flush with the edge of one side. The bottom piece will be secured to the lower deck.
Deer Stand Roof
Construct a frame out of 2x4's as shown below. Then attach a roof. Tip - use some duct tape to hold the roof metal in place until it is attached.
Trap Door of Deer Blind Top Level
Contsruct the trap door out of decking pieces and secure the pieces together on the bottom with 19" pieces of decking or other wood. Attach strap hinges.
Deer Stand Sides
Use 1/2" thick material for the lower pieces and then, completely enclose the top with lighter 1/4" pieces. The 1/4" pieces are fastened with screws going through the 2x2's into the deer stand corner posts.
More Pieces for your Tower Deer Stand
These 2x4 pieces will be needed in the construction of the top level.
Additional Support Pieces
When the deer hunting stand is completed, you may wish to provide additional stability with up to (4) addtional 8-ft diagonal pieces and (4) 4-ft long corner pieces.
